- $link: news item link (item.link)
- $description: news item description (item.description)
- $date: the publication date (item.pubDate, item.date)
- $category: the article category (item.category)
Global FORMAT setting

The header and format parameters might also use variables rendering the dc, image and content namespace information. Note, that only bits of interest have been implemented so far and those namespaces might not be implemented fully yet.

Rendering the dc namespace

The following variables are extracting the dc namespace info, that could be used in header and format. Nnote, that some of the variables are already used above. This is done by purpose to use different feeds with the same formating parameters. If there's a conflict the non-dc tags have higher precedence, i.e. a <title> content </title> is prefered over <dc:title> content </dc:title> .
  • $title: channel/article title (dc:title)
  • $creator: channel creator (dc:creator)
  • $subject: subject text; this will also add an image according to the subject hash list, see above (dc:subject)
  • $description: ... (dc:description)
  • $publisher: the channel/article publisher (dc:publisher)
  • $contributor: ... (dc:contributor)
  • $date: ... (dc:date)
  • $type: ... (dc:type)
  • $format: ... (dc:format)
  • $identifier: ... (dc:identifier)
  • $source: ... (dc:source)
  • $language: ... (dc:language)
  • $relation: ... (dc:relation)
  • $coverage: ... (dc: coverage)
  • $rights: ... (dc: rights)

Rendering the image namespace

An image:item is converted into an <img> tag using the following mappings:
  • src: image url (rdf:about attribute of the image.item tag)
  • alt: image title (title)
  • width: image width (image:width)
  • height: image height image:height)

Rendering the content namespace

The variable $content is refering to the <content:encoding> content </content:encoding>.

Shipping a Parcel to the USA: Everything You Need to Know

The shipping and delivery industry has evolved considerably in recent years. No one would have imagined a few years ago that international shipping would become so easy to do. Nowadays, you can easily send a package to your relatives living on another continent, and they should receive it in a couple of days at most.

If you live and work in Europe, shipping to the United States might seem a bit complicated at first. However, if you know about the existing rules, things shouldn't be too difficult. Here we share with you everything you need to know about sending a package to the USA.

Make Sure Your Items Are Allowed

Not every parcel can make it into the United States. It is important to know if your item is safe to send. Look online to find lists of items that are restricted or prohibited. For example, you might have some problems with sending food. It is better to wait until you can give food in person.

The web site of the United States Postal Service explains most of the restrictions you should know. It is good to make sure that you also know about the restrictions that your own country has, too, before you start sending packages.

Package Your Items Safely

It will take some time for your items to get to the US, and you have to make sure that they get there safely. That is why it is important to pack them the right way. Make sure that you take extra precautions and use cushioning material such as bubble wrap if necessary.

You can always use a delivery service that insures the shipments to the United States, such as ParcelABC. This way you can be sure that you will get your money back if something happens to your parcel.

Complete a Pro Forma Invoice

Sending a package to the US is a bit different from mailing within your own country. For example, you will need to complete a pro forma invoice. The pro forma invoice is required by law. It tells US Customs what is in your package. Most delivery services will help you with this paperwork.

Additionally, you can use ParcelABC to ship to the USA to make sure that your parcel will get to the destination safely. You’ll need to place 5 printed copies of the invoice in an envelope and attach it to the outside of the parcel.

Know the Tax and Import Rules

Each country is different when it comes to customs. You might need to pay extra taxes for certain items. You should take a look at the requirements for each country’s customs and border protection so you can know how much you will be charged for each item. Certain countries also require you to complete additional paperwork.

If all you need to do is send a sweater made by grandma to your brother in the United States, the paperwork should be simple to complete, and there shouldn't be any import tax.

However, if you are shipping items in bulk for sale or trade, you’ll need to educate yourself thoroughly about the regulations.

4 Tips on Arranging Your Bedroom for a Better Night's Sleep

One of the biggest investments most people will make in their lifetime is a new home. And perhaps the most important room in any home is your bedroom, due to the big role sleep plays in most people's life.

If you’re trying to run a small business but you can’t get a good night’s sleep, that’s no good. A proper night’s sleep, night after night, is essential to your business success.

In order to get a great night's sleep, you will have to work on getting your bedroom arranged correctly. Among the best parts of owning a home is the fact that you get to change or alter anything you want to make your surrounding more personalized. Here are a few tips on how to arrange your bedroom for a better night's sleep.

1. It Starts with the Bed

The first thing you need to do when trying to get your bedroom set up for good sleep is to choose the right bedding. There are a number of different bedding types on the market, which means you will have to do some research to find the best fit for your needs. For most people, nothing beats buying a quality mattress from a reputable supplier. These mattresses are known for their comfort and durability, which is why they are so popular.

Before you head out to look for a new mattress, look at reviews for the top 10 mattresses on the market. Looking online is a great way to figure out which mattress has the best ratings on the market. Rushing through the mattress selection process will usually lead to a variety of problems and may cause you to choose the wrong mattress.

2. Remove the Clutter

After you have the right bedding in place, you need to work on removing any clutter you might have in your bedroom. This means any clothes that are on the floor or other things on night stands and tables. The less clutter you have in your bedroom the easier you will find it to sleep. If needed, you can get dressers or other bedroom furniture to store your things in. This will also be a great opportunity for you to get rid of some things while removing clutter from your room.

If you are unsure about where to start with this process, hire a cleaning service. These professionals will be able to help you greatly during the organization of your home. Paying them is well worth it due to the help they are able to provide. Before hiring a cleaning service, you will need to do a great deal of research to find a reputable cleaning company.

3. Take Away Electronics

The biggest enemies of sleep are electronic devices. Therefore, don’t keep them in your bedroom. They will do far more harm than good there. In order to set your room up as a sleep-friendly environment, you will need to have peace and quiet. By leaving your electronics in another room, you will be able to wind down before bed and have a good night's rest. The more sleep you are able to get at night, the better you will ultimately feel.

4. Develop a Routine

Often, a person will have trouble getting to sleep at night because they haven’t established a nighttime routine. Going into your bedroom about a half hour before you want to go to sleep is a good idea. By doing this, you can give your mind time to wind down. Getting a routine established will allow you to get to sleep at night with ease. The less stimulation you have around you when you’re attempting to fall asleep, the better you will ultimately sleep. While it may take some time to develop a routine, it is well worth the effort.

Get Better Sleep and Enjoy More Success

Neglecting to find and address the issues that are keeping you up at night can lead to a lot of problems with your health and keep you from achieving all you are capable of achieving.

Mortgage Protection Insurance: What You Need to Know Now

For many homeowners, one of their greatest fears is a missed mortgage payment, and for good reason. That first missed payment could begin the slippery slope toward repossession. No one wants to think about the loss of his or her home as a real possibility. Fortunately, mortgage protection insurance can help people avoid this possibility, creating a safety net that may turn out to be very necessary at some point.

And if you operate a small business out of your home, mortgage protection insurance could be even more important for you. Not only will it allow you to protect your home, but also it will help you to safeguard your livelihood.

What Is It?

Mortgage protection insurance helps homeowners repay their mortgages if they can no longer make them. This might occur if a long-term illness becomes an issue. It might also happen if an accident keeps you from working, or your income takes a serious hit, putting your home at risk. The typical policy can cover a mortgage payment for up to two years, and it offers up to 65% of the policy owner’s income.

Three Main Types

There are typically three main types of mortgage protection insurance.

The first type is unemployment. If you should lose your job, and you are registered with the government as unemployed, your mortgage protection policy would cover you in that instance.

The second type is accident and sickness only. In these cases, you will need to have been diagnosed with a long-term illness or you will need to have been in a serious accident. You will have to have certification from a doctor in both instances before you can claim this is the case.

The final type protects you against accident, sickness, and in the case of unemployment.

The Fine Print

There are a number of cases where your mortgage protection plan might not cover you. For example, in cases where you take voluntary leave from your employment, you won’t qualify. Likewise, in the event you deliberately injured yourself, you can’t claim on the policy. Medical conditions that existed before you took the policy out, too, often aren’t covered.

Typically, you can get coverage on these policies as long as you are at least 18 years old. Likewise, you can apply until you are 65. However, no matter what your age, you have to work at least 16 hours a week. Those who work on a temporary basis may not qualify, but if you are self-employed, you might still qualify.

Is It Expensive?

One reason many people don’t consider this type of coverage is because they’re worried it might cost more than they feel they can afford. Fortunately, it’s a fairly affordable product that may be the perfect way to meet your needs. On average, someone who is 30 years old will pay less than ú12 per month. The older you are, though, the more you need to pay. However, even the average 50-year-old will only pay ú27 per month.

It’s a Small Price to Pay for Peace of Mind

When it comes to mortgage protection insurance, what you’re really paying for is peace of mind. It’s the perfect way to cover your biggest investment should something serious happen and you cannot make your payments. Your policy is renewable once a year, and it’s certainly worth it to give it a try. Learn more about this essential type of insurance now.
